These activities include chanting, singing devotional songs or mantras, playing traditional healing instruments, group improvisation and even guided meditations accompanied by music.

About the Founder

Family Background

Vid Paavani Bharadwaj, born on 7-6-1995, hails from a family of musicians of many generations. Her great grandfather Vid Arunachalappa was a harmonium player of great repute. Her paternal grandfather Ganakalabhushana Vid A Veerabhadraiah was the senior most violinist of Karnataka and founder of Aruna Musicals, manufacturers and dealers of Musical Instruments. Her father Vid A V Kashinath was a well known percussionist and manufacturer of musical instruments. Her mother Swarashree Vid Pushpa Kashinath is a leading ‘A’ grade Veena artiste of All India Radio.

Gurus

Paavani is a disciple of  Vid Smt R Chandrika and Sangeetha Kala Acharya Vid Smt Neela Ramgopal, currently learning from her mother Swarashree Vid Pushpa Kashinath, Ganakalabhushana Vid R A Ramamani and Padmashri Vid R N Tyagarajan.

Academics

Paavani is a Biomedical engineer, Gold medalist in M A Music and currently pursuing PhD on the topic, ‘A study on the efficacy of Indian Music Therapy during Pregnancy’ at Vishwakarma University, Pune under the guidance of Dr L Subramaniam.

Achievements

  • She is one of the youngest artists in India to perform at the prestigious Akashvani Sangeetha Sammelan, an annual festival of ALL INDIA RADIO celebrated throughout India.
  • She is one of the youngest vocalists to be an “A” grade artiste of AIR in two categories namely, Devotional and Light music.
  • She is the youngest musician to give a lecture demonstration on “Avadhana Pallavi” at the prestigious 47th Conference of Karnataka Ganakala Parishath.
  • She has also performed at the prestigious Madras Music Academy, Chennai, for the ‘Spirit of Youth’ Music Festival.
  • She has performed at the Gayana Samaja Youth Festival.
  • She secured 1st prize in the National Level competition conducted by AIR in two categories namely, Devotional and Light music at the age of 16.
  • She was the runner-up of “ Ede Thumbi Haduvenu”, a reality show (ETV) hosted by the veteran playback singer Sri. S. P. Balasubrahmanium.
  • THE TIMES MUSIC has released her album “JAGANMOHANANE KRISHNA”, which was released at the Nadatarangini 25TH Annual Music Festical, USA. She has sung for “ERAI”, an award winning tamil short movie, “Ankahee”, a hindi short movie.
  • She has also sung title songs for Kannada TV serials namely Kinnari, Mahadevi, Vaishnavi, Onde Goodina Hakkigalu, Prarthane, Triveni Sangama and for many other music albums under the direction of eminent musicians.

She has been felicitated by the Rotary Bangalore Metro for her excellence in the field of Indian Classical Music.

She is the recipient of ‘Ananya-Nadajyothi Kala Prathibha Puraskar’ award.

She is the recipient of ‘Prathibhakankshi’ award from Shree Ramanavami Festival, Fort High School, Bengaluru.

She is the recipient of ‘Ragashree’ award by Poornapragna Kalanikethan, Bengaluru.

She has won many prizes in the prestigious competitions conducted by the Madras Music Academy, Chennai.
